Yanesha Expressive Utterances and Ancestral Songs and Their Application in Intercultural Bilingual Education

Abstract

Ancestral songs are a collection of verses, melodies, and rhythms characteristic of an Indigenous people. They include various forms: konareñets, sherareñets, rekërkëñets, etseñets, wellesheñets, and po’neshareteñets. They are transmitted orally from generation to generation with the purpose of preserving and enriching the culture. This study focuses on the expressive utterances that can be identified at the beginning of each song. The present study was conducted in the Yanesha community of Alto Yurinaki, located in the district of Perené, province of Chanchamayo, Junín region (Peru).
