Early archaeological manifestations in the Upper Amazon is a report concerning the existence of certain archaeological evidence recorded in the geographical areas of the provinces of Bagua, Utcubamba, Jaén, and San Ignacio, within the Amazonas and Cajamarca regions in the northeastern zone of Peru. The presence of rock art, monumental architecture, ceramics, and funerary offerings of marine origin demonstrates that the cultures established in this part of the Amazonian Andes territory interacted and were in permanent contact with the various social groups developed in the Zamora-Chinchipe basins in Ecuador and with those social groups established in the northern highlands of Cajamarca and Lambayeque on the Pacific Ocean coast.
