Abstract

This essay records the names, uses, and, whenever possible, scientific identifications of plants used for medicinal purposes by the Angotero-Secoya people in Loreto, Peru. In addition, the author reports on the general health status of part of the population and provides information on the local use of medicinal plants in daily life.
