Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • El envío no ha sido publicado previamente ni se ha sometido a consideración por ninguna otra revista (o se ha proporcionado una explicación al respecto en los Comentarios al editor/a).
  • Los artículos deben enviarse en Word; el tipo de letra es Times New Roman, tamaño de fuente 12 pts.; el interlineado debe tener espacio y medio, los manuscritos tendrán una extensión no mayor de 20 páginas según formato indicado.
  • Siempre que sea posible, se proporcionan direcciones URL para las referencias.

Guidelines for Authors of Amazonía Peruana

Editorial Policy

Amazonía Peruana publishes articles, research papers, chronicles, and reviews related to the Amazon and its inhabitants in general. The articles, while they should constitute scientific contributions to the knowledge of this region, are aimed at a wide range of readers with diverse interests linked to the study of the Amazonian reality.

(Reviewers) The evaluation of manuscripts submitted for publication is carried out by the editor of the journal.

The form and content of works published in Amazonía Peruana are the responsibility of their authors, and they must adhere to the following guidelines:

Articles must be peer-reviewed by specialists before publication (determine how many specialists).

Articles must be submitted in Word; the font must be Times New Roman, 12 pt.; line spacing must be one and a half spaces; manuscripts must be no longer than 25 pages according to the indicated format.

Texts should be presented in the following order:

The title of the article, in Spanish and English, should be concise and clear, with a maximum of 20 words.

The name of the author(s), in the following order: last name, first name, institutional affiliation, ORCID, and email address.

Abstracts should be in two languages, in Spanish and English (including keywords in the respective languages ​​after each abstract); they should not exceed 200 words.

Keywords should be in two languages, in Spanish and English, separated by semicolons; a minimum of 4 and a maximum of 7 should be included.

Manuscript Contents

Introduction, background and objectives, methods, materials used, and sources.

Results and discussion of results.

Notes should not be footnoted, but should be included as a separate section before the bibliographic references.

Bibliographic references (corresponding to explicit in-text citations) in APA style (American Psychological Association, 7th Ed.).

In the case of an interview

These should be specific to a specific aspect of a topic or work; their length should not exceed 10 pages.

Research Advances

Present the development of the research; their length should not exceed 8 pages.

Chronicles

Should not exceed 10 pages.

Reviews

These should not exceed three pages. The language should be informative when presenting the book's content.

Standards for Citations and Bibliographic References

In-text citations and bibliographic references should follow APA (American Psychological Association, 7th Ed.) style.

In-text Reference Citations

When an indirect, contextual, or paraphrase quote is included in the body of the text, the following order should be used: the main surname, the date of publication. For example (Vega, 2014).

When a direct or textual quotation is cited in the content, it is done in the following order: the main surname, the date of publication, and the page. For example, (Vega, 2014, p. 72).

Citations with more than one author should be written as follows: (Uwarai, Paz, & Regan, 1998) or (Uwarai, Paz, & Regan, 1998, p. 45), as appropriate.

Citations with more than one author may exclude the author(s) from the parentheses. For example, (Uwarai, Paz, and Regan, 1998) or (Uwarai, Paz, and Regan, 1998, p. 45), as appropriate.

If the author has two or more references from the same year, they should be distinguished alphanumerically: (2020), (2020a), (2020b), etc. Example: (Granero, 2020), (Granero, 2020a)

Author Responsibilities

- All authors, editors, and reviewers are encouraged to study and follow the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) guidelines at all stages of the process.

- Authors or contributors must guarantee the reliability of the data submitted with their submission.

- Authors must guarantee the originality of the submitted material. Revista Amazonía Peruana does not accept previously published works, regardless of the format.

- Revista Amazonía Peruana strongly rejects any plagiarism, whether partial or total. Therefore, the author must ensure proper acknowledgment of the sources used through the citation form required by the journal (Guidelines for Authors).

- It is the sole responsibility of the authors to submit their material in the format required by the journal (Guidelines for Authors). The journal reserves the right to reject submissions solely for failure to comply with the submission guidelines.

Authenticity

Amazonía Peruana uses the Cross iThenticate plagiarism detector to determine the authenticity of submitted manuscripts. Through this service, we can detect whether a manuscript contains passages of text that appear in other publications or resources. Duplication should not exceed 10%.

The names and email addresses entered in this journal site will be used exclusively for the stated purposes of this journal and will not be made available for any other purpose or to any other party.
