It is possible to argue, following this line of reasoning, that the “principle of reality” of cognitive minorities in the Amazon is not only non-uniform but also contrasts with the models for interpreting reality found in scientific, technological, and utilitarian thought. In this sense, it would be irrelevant to discuss whether or not such models of interpretation seek to determine the future of the Amazon by advocating either its transformation or its preservation as an intact environment, according to national or universal interests.
