The aim of this essay is to show the role that conceptions of gender relations in mythology, ritual, and beliefs in supernatural beings play in the reproduction of relations of production in an Indigenous society of the Peruvian Amazon such as the Campa-Asháninka, characterized by a gender-based division of labor.
