Sara Castro Klarén estudia de qué manera en la novela "El Hablador" de Mario Vargas Llosa se critica la configuración del indígena como sujeto nacional en la escritura etnográfica indigenista. Según Castro-Klarén esta crítica es incoherente por partir de una paradoja en la que se cuestiona la carga ideológica de la etnografía y se considera que la novela por ser un producto estético es una escritura ideológicamente libre.
