Muitas vezes, o parto não figura nas etnografias amazônicas, e quando o faz, é apresentado como um dado meramente descritivo. Neste artigo, a autora apresenta, a partir de entrevistas, testemunhos e pesquisa participativa, o parto entre os Yine da Amazônia peruana. São apresentadas as particularidades do parto neste grupo étnico, completamente diferente das sociedades ocidentais.
