Abstract

It is necessary to analyze the concepts that refer to the most important groups and categories within Amarakaeri culture. The meaning of these concepts varies according to the person’s perspective. Differences in perspective concern not only organization (their meaning in terms of the composition of conceptual units), but also structure (their meaning in terms of their position within the social framework). Sociologically, there are four types of units based on the criteria of gender, age, residence, and kinship.
