A “Grande Jiboia”: Arte e Cosmologia dos Shipibo-Konibo

A importância dos alucinógenos na função social dos grupos étnicos da Amazônia já é conhecida. Este artigo apresenta o percurso da produção do artesanato, atividade exclusivamente feminina, e dos desenhos empregados na elaboração de tecidos e peças de cerâmica. Esses desenhos são transmitidos pelo xamã que, durante o consumo de ayahuasca e por meio da alucinação sinestésica (acústico-visual), percebe os desenhos transmitidos pelos antigos xamãs (merayas), por alguns seres míticos poderosos ou pela aura da pessoa presente nas sessões.
