The Indigenous Population of the Amazon in 1492

In this article, the author conducts a comprehensive and detailed analysis of historical demographic data on Indigenous Amazonian populations at the time of European contact and conquest. The analysis is based on several considerations regarding the ecological potential of the different regions that make up the greater Amazon Basin.
