Flooding and Settlement Patterns along the Ucayali River among the Shipibo-Konibo

The author analyzes differences in the adaptation of villages located in floodplains and those situated in non-flooded areas. The study demonstrates that a complementary and reciprocal relationship exists between members of both types of villages and emphasizes the importance of considering this relationship in any development planning for the Ucayali region.
