Abstract

This article shows the way in which the Cashinahua conceive the relationship between identity and difference in their graphic art, in their moiety system, and in their philosophy marked by a dynamic dualism, where the other participates in the constitution of the self, and vice versa, and where each position is always hypothetical—and ritually reversible, possessing clear perspectivist qualities. The style of perspectivist thought implies a constant awareness of the possibility of changing points of view.
