Este artigo trata dos indígenas Orejón, membros da família linguística Tucano Ocidental. Após um breve relato histórico, o autor analisa o processo de aculturação que afeta a organização social e política tradicional e o universo cultural dos Orejones. Esse processo exemplifica a relação de dependência desse grupo em relação à sociedade nacional.
